The Countdown is over, the 2011 Rugby World Cup ended on 23rd October 2011 with the All Blacks taking home the World Champion Title.
During the 6 week Rugby World Cup Period PeopleMax® contractors oversaw the communications for public transport users, each handling anywhere between 50 interactions with people at quieter stations such as Takapuna, right up to 700 interactions at Kingsland Train Station.

Throughout the tournament as the crowds and excitement builtPeopleMax® was able to respond to the large demand for part-time staff at short notice. Anyone who needed help with transport issues or alternative public transport, our project staff were able to assist.

To also cater for the games and the fan zones in downtown Auckland, there were a lot of road closures that forced changes to the bus timetables. Our event staff were mainly stationed around the Britomart main transport hub to inform the public of these bus stop changes, either redirecting them with maps of walking them to the exact stop.

Over all we received a lot of great feedback from the public about the help they received from our PeopleMax® Ambassadors and overall think the RWC event was a great success for PeopleMax®.
